David McCaul

David McCaul qualified from University College Dublin in 2001 with honor’s degree in Medicine .He then completed his Basic Surgical Training in 2004 and then entered specialist training in otolaryngology on the Northern Ireland training scheme. This was completed in 2012 when he was conferred as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
Mr McCaul then undertook further specialist training in Melbourne, Australia in Head and neck Cancer. While in Australia he developed further experience in thyroid cancer and advanced surgical techniques in all aspects of head and neck cancer.
Since returning from Australia in 2014 he has taken up a consultant post in the Southern trust providing a full range of both adult and children’s otolaryngology services.
Mr McCaul is a member of the regional Head and neck Multi-disciplinary team meeting held in Belfast every Monday .He is also involved in thyroid Multi-disciplinary team meeting as well as the Skin Multi-disciplinary meeting.
David McCaul is currently Clinical Director of cancer services for the Southern Trust.
Mr McCaul is fully trained in all aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat surgery with extensive experience both in children’s and adult ENT disease. His subspecialist interests are thyroid, salivary gland, voice, pediatric, snoring and sinus surgery.
